Microsoft have been rapidly adding new features, updates and even new service packs into Microsoft Dynamics CRM; to help stay on top of these updates, we’ve created this Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016 eBook to summarise the new features.

The Major Update

Microsoft’s regular innovation and integration of new acquisitions ensures that Microsoft Dynamics CRM remains at the forefront of CRM solutions and a progressive platform, which is a key factor when selecting a long-term CRM system. Microsoft have also published a CRM Roadmap website – so you can keep an eye on what other updates are in development or rolling out.

Spring Wave: The Minor Update

The end of 2015, saw the release of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016 – a major release for both CRM Online and CRM on-premise. Just days after customers received this update, Microsoft were announcing the next release: the Spring Wave update. This is a minor update, which means that only Online customers will receive the update for now, while on-premises customers will receive this with the next major update. If you want to find out more about how CRM updates are released, then we recommend you look at ‘Microsoft Dynamics CRM: Change your update approach’.

Service Add-ons

Amongst the recent major and minor updates, Microsoft have also integrated new ‘Service Add-ons’. These are based on recent Microsoft acquisitions, such as FantasySalesTeam and FieldOne, and integrate with Microsoft Dynamics CRM but must be added a separate ‘products’ – or for now at least. It’s important to note that some of these carry an additional cost.
