Microsoft offers free Office 365 for schools

Apple on school books

This week, Microsoft announced that millions of students around the world are eligible to receive Office 365 completely free and Microsoft have made it easier than ever for students to check their validity and get started.

While this simple eligibility checker was previously only available to schools based in USA, Microsoft have now rolled this out internationally – including the UK.

Quick and simple installation

Previously, the process for students to receive Office 365 had been lengthy and long-winded including involvement from the school and waiting on approval. Now, eligible students simply need to enter their school email address and if eligible, they are immediately given the free installation link.

What do eligible students receive?

  • The latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Access and Publisher
  • 1 Terabyte of OneDrive cloud storage
  • Installation on up to five PCs or Macs, and Office apps on other mobile devices including Windows tablets and iPad
  • Office Online

How does a school qualify?

If the educational institution has Office for the faculty and staff then all students can receive the Office 365 features mentioned above for free. If unsure, just use the link below to find out instantly.
