Chorus take on the Dragon Boats for charity!

Man in Chorus t-shirt by water and dragon boat

This September, we are delighted to be raising money for Sue Ryder by taking part in Sue Ryder’s Dragon Boats 2014.

Sue Ryder, is a fantastic charity with a great presence in the South West, bringing palliative support and help to those suffering from life-threatening illnesses. As 60% of their funding comes from fundraising, raising money through volunteers and events is vital to them – something we’re very excited to be part of.

The challenge:

To race along Bristol’s waterfront in Chinese-style Dragon Boats over a 250-metre length course in a series of heats, resulting in one final race (100% dependent on our boat-skills and if we make it through the heats…!).

The event:

Baltic Wharf at Bristol Docks on Sunday 14th September – please come along and support us!

The team:

The boat will consist of 16 paddlers and one drummer (the most fought-over position).
We have selected our finest rowers as well as quite a few to spare (in case of tiredness or perhaps more likely, if someone loses their balance and falls into the water).

What’s next?

We are collecting sponsorship for the event with an ambitious target of £2,000! If anyone would like to donate for this great cause our fundraising page can be found at the bottom of this page (we know Sue Ryder would greatly appreciate it!) Or if you want get even more involved, come down to the Docks on Sunday 14th September to cheer us on.
