Finance and Admin Assistant Job Role

As a Finance and Admin Assistant you will be responsible for supporting the Financial Controller in the efficient day to day operation of the Finance Function. You will also assist with the general administration of a busy office environment and act as first point of contact for visitors.

 

Location:

Our offices are located in the town of Portishead, on the outskirts of Bristol. We are easily accessible via the M4 & M5.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process purchase ledger invoices, credit card bill and expenses, accounting appropriately for VAT
  • Ensure sales invoices are processed using the correct prices and terms applied
  • Calculate and invoice carriage recharge
  • Maintain strict credit control
  • Ensure the fixed asset register is kept up to date
  • Assist and maintain the integrity of the nominal ledger, undertaking analysis and reconciliation as directed by the Financial Controller
  • Process receipts and payment along with administering petty cash
  • Assist the Financial Controller in updating, implementing and enforcing financial controls and procedures
  • Respond to customer calls and queries
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience in a similar role and of credit control
  • Proven track record in an account function
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Methodical, good attention to detail and a strong analytical approach
  • Be able to demonstrate a thoughtful and logical approach to solving issues
  • Be able to multi task and prioritise workload
  • Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm in a pressured environment
