Avanti approached two suppliers for their CRM system: Chorus, a Microsoft Gold Partner for CRM, and another supplier deploying Salesforce. However, thanks to its familiarity, its flexibility and the fact that Avanti already used the Microsoft stack it made perfect sense to again turn to Microsoft for customer relationship management.
After scoping and interviewing key departments (including Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, IT & Credit Management) the decision to go with Chorus was firmly secured thanks to the instant partnership.
The first step involved migrating and connecting all data into one central system: Microsoft Dynamics CRM. This did not mean existing solutions were to be obsolete but they needed to be linked together behind the scenes, with CRM as the employee-facing system. A key factor was the ability to integrate Dynamics CRM Avanti’s Gas Distribution management system, which is critical to the day to day running of their business.
By working with Chorus, we were able to talk through exactly what we wanted and they were able to develop a completely tailored solution for us. We have a great partnership with Chorus and they have helped us to streamline and improve our customer relationship management, as well as making it enjoyable along the way.AvantiGas
By switching from more traditional spread sheets and databases to CRM, Avanti used the opportunity to have a bespoke system developed for their business. Chorus’ team of CRM developers worked closely with Avanti to develop its own unique quoting system, procurement system and integrated email automation for the marketing department. This allowed Avanti to streamline and automate many business processes such as quote generation, by including niche information within quotes such as meter type, price per litre, installation charges.
During deployment, Chorus ran training courses for all relevant staff at Avanti – a vital, but often skipped, final stage in the CRM process. This included test training in a development environment to identify ‘teething’ issues before go-live. By ensuring users were happy with the system user adoption was much easier, contributing to the success of Avanti’s CRM system. By building on the strong and scalable .NET platform that Microsoft Dynamics CRM lies on, the system can continue to be at the core of Avanti for years to come: as Avanti grows, their CRM system easily flexes too.
