Service Desk Dispatcher

The Opportunity

We are recruiting a Service Desk Dispatcher to join our IT Operations team. The Service Desk Dispatcher will ensure maximum utilisation and prioritisation of internal and field resources through daily dispatch of service requests, by both monitoring and managing incoming client requests, so requests can be dispatched to the appropriate resource and location — and escalated in a timely manner and where appropriate.

As a Service Desk Dispatcher, your primary responsibility is overall staff coordination of tickets, not direct technical support.

Primary responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Monitor service requests and incidents.
  • Manage and Monitor any unassigned queues.
  • Manage and delegate support emails.
  • Making sure all tickets are updated in line with service desk SLAs.
  • Ensure that the right resources are assigned, that they have the appropriate information, time allocated, and any other resources required to do the job.
  • While managing the schedule and/or rescheduling of any activities required to resolve tickets, also review the root cause behind any resolution delays, assignment rescheduling, etc. to ensure efficient work and timely issue resolution.
  • Coordinate rescheduling as needed to accommodate urgent support requests.


You will be based at our offices in Portishead, just outside of Bristol and off the M5 with great access and free parking but the role also includes off-site work at client sites.
