We are currently recruiting for a 3rd line Engineer to join our fantastic team.

Job Purpose

As a 3rd Line Engineer you will be dealing with challenging technical escalations and problem solving to help our clients find the fix. You will also deal with new Client take-on’s, security reviews, planned upgrades and rollouts through Projects.

You will work both on-site and, in the office, working beside the Service Desk and projects departments, adjusting in an ad-hoc way to deal with the changing priorities of the teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain Clients Microsoft Server/ desktop estate and Exchange/ Office 365 environments
  • Undertake IT project work as instructed by the projects team
  • Maintain and update of client networks
  • Provide support to the helpdesk and contribute to our knowledge Base improving processes and procedures
  • Resolve high level technical issue within agreed SLAs
  • Manage difficult IT outages with clients
  • Support existing infrastructure
  • Hyper-V management, rearrangement of hosts and servers. Setup and manage infrastructure including clustering
  • Maintain awareness of and follow the company procedures and guidelines, including security, regulatory and quality related matters
  • Comply with all relevant legislative and legal requirements, including industry regulations, employment law, Data Protection and Health and Safety
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested

Person specification

A high level of customer service skills, excellent communication and attention to detail are essential. You must have an excellent understanding of Windows system administration tasks, as this forms the basis for the majority of the systems we support.

You need to possess the drive to develop your technical skills further in order to keep up with the rapid growth of our business and be used to working in a time critical support environment.


  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
  • Knowledge of supporting/administering Windows systems
  • Understanding of Network Infrastructure
  • A demonstrated passion for technology with a desire to develop yourself
  • Methodical approach to problem solving and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Awareness of importance of accuracy, data integrity and of adhering to procedures
  • Confident and organised
  • Team player who is willing to share knowledge
  • Exposure to Microsoft Azure/Cloud technologies
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012/2016
  • Microsoft Desktop technologies (Windows 7 onwards)
  • Office 365 migration and administration skills
  • Experience with PowerShell
  • Experience with enterprise grade Firewalls/Routers/Switches
