2nd Line Support Technician

Job purpose

As a 2nd Line Support Technician you will be supporting our clients by dealing with 1st Line escalations and by monitoring infrastructure. 2nd Line Support 

Technicians work both on-site and in the office, on both support and projects, adjusting in an ad-hoc way to deal with the changing priorities of the team.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing back-ups and the health of back up storage space
  • To support and maintain Microsoft Server/desktops and Exchange/Office 365 environments
  • Escalate issue to the 3rd Line Support Team where necessary
  • Undertake IT project work as instructed by the Projects Team
  • To maintain and update client networks
  • Provide constant support to 1st Line to help improve knowledge
  • Ensure all knowledge base documentation is accurate and up-to-date
  • Quality check all hardware before it is shipped to our clients
  • Resolve customer issues within the agreed SLAs
  • Maintain awareness of and follow company procedures and guidelines, including security, regulatory and quality related matters
  • Comply with all relevant legislative and legal requirements, including industry regulations, Employment Law, Data Protection and Health and Safety
  • Demonstrate behaviours that promote Chorus company values
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested

Person specification

  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • An understanding of Windows system administration tasks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of supporting / administering Windows systems
  • Understanding of Network infrastructure
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • A good team player who is willing to share knowledge and support others
  • A demonstrated passion for technology with the desire to develop yourself
