The opportunity

As an IT Project Manager you will be responsible for analysing, planning, scheduling & monitoring IT projects. You will ensure that projects are proactively handled; managing risks, dependencies & change control. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered in a timely manner, to agreed budget. You are also expected to ensure that client satisfaction is maintained throughout project delivery.

The role

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning projects and creating & maintaining project plans to complete them to time and budget.
  • Maintain the project schedule, highlighting risks, dependencies and responding appropriately to overcome them.
  • Responsible for reporting on project progress both internally and externally.
  • Ensuring that the projects team are assigned tasks and resources are managed effectively, making sure that appropriate skillsets are utilised throughout all stages of project delivery.
  • Act as the main point of contact between the client and the projects team.
  • Leading regular meetings with the team and external stakeholders.
  • Using IT project management tools to track progress.
  • Managing multiple concurrent projects at different stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Review completed projects and arrange ‘wash up’ meetings with the projects team to identify lessons learned.
  • Maintain awareness of and follow Chorus company procedures and guidelines, including security, regulatory and quality related matters.
  • Demonstrate behaviours that promote our values.
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested.

Role context

  • Complexity: You will represent the Chorus IT Projects team to both internal and external customers and are responsible for providing the ‘first point of contact’ for information and reporting around projects in flight.
  • Impact: Project Managers deliver value by ensuring all in flight projects are following the critical path and keep both internal and external stakeholders appraised of the progress and risk.
  • Influence: You will interact with a range of key clients both onsite and remotely and will have active dialogue with multiple people at varying levels within the clients’ business and Chorus. You will also have the ability to shape future projects via the post project review/ wash up meetings providing continual improvement to the projects process and training.
  • Resources: The expectation is to perform in line with the company policy and budget. You will have key contact with projects resources from 1st/2nd/3rd Line service desk teams as well as a close interaction with the Head of Consultancy, Infrastructure Manager and Head of Operations.
